Lasers, Intense Pulsed Light devices and the Law
The Care Standards Act 2000 requires any person or business providing treatments using Lasers or Intense Pulsed Light systems to:
- display a Certificate of Registration with the Healthcare Commission
- comply with the Regulations and Standards
- be inspected by the Healthcare Commission.

Prior to getting any aesthetic treatment you should ensure that the clinic
- is registered with the Healthcare Commission
- has a certificate of registration
- has been inspected by the Healthcare Commission
- will provide a copy of their inspection report
- will have a Client's Guide that you can look at.
