Consider yourself among friends – virtually everyone turns their face towards the sun at some point during the year, even if they hate themselves for it later. But all this self-reproach – is it warranted over a few warming rays? According to the sun-care experts, yes. [Click

AGERA – HOW VERY A-PEELING
 01/11/2004
Anne came to us with prematurely ageing skin. Aged 35, she had come to accept that her sun-loving past had already cost her her youthful complexion. She heard about us from a friend who comes regularly for Botox injections and heard about the Agera Rx peels and skincare range which have been developed as a medical treatment for acne-scarred, pigmented and/or wrinkled skin. Rather squeamish about the idea of Botox and Restylane injections, Anne was, however, interested in the Agera peels and skincare range. [Click

LIFE BEGINS AT FORTY!
 01/10/2004
Sarah is feeling and certainly looking like a new woman. She came to us a few months ago to undergo a series of Epilight treatments to remove leg hair in preparation for the summer. Quite typically for a “first timer” she was rather nervous and tentative about trying out any other treatments despite being an obvious candidate for photorejuvenation, Microdermabrasion and skin peels. Approaching her 40th birthday, Sarah had quite extensive sun damage on her face. Her complexion was dull, already quite lined and a few broken veins and sun spots contributed to a generally prematurely ageing skin. [Click

MORE REGULATION URGENTLY REQUIRED TO PROTECT CONSUMERS SEEKING COSMETIC TREATMENTS
 01/08/2004
As responsible, highly-qualified and extensively trained medical doctors in the field of aesthetic medicine, it is quite frankly toe curling every time we hear or read of “Botox” parties or even Botox clinics at supermarkets and other High Street outlets.
The Botox anti-wrinkle treatment is undoubtedly one of the most revolutionary rejuvenating treatments around and its deserved popularity is growing all the time. However, that does not mean to say that the appropriate place to be getting your Botox is at hen nights or giggly girls’ nights out.

BOTOX: SAFE, EFFECTIVE AND HIGHLY RESPECTED BY THE MEDICAL PROFESSION
 01/05/2004
The negative hype and hysteria surrounding Botox treatments has finally been replaced by the sensible and pragmatic coverage it has always deserved. Hijacked by the tabloid press largely to belittle celebrities indulging in what is indeed a highly-effective facial rejuvenation treatment, the subject of Botox has had a bad press. Notwithstanding, it is now the second most recognisable drug on the market – second only to Viagra. [Click

Scarred for Life?
 01/04/2004
A client came to see us recently for some anti-wrinkle Botox injections. An attractive woman in her early 40s, Jane looks after herself and is keen to look her best. However, she is plagued with the constant reminder of adolescent days when she suffered from terrible acne. The pitted scars have ruined her complexion and only the thickest makeup can disguise the severe skin damage. When we told her that we could actually hugely improve her complexion, she looked at us in disbelief. Acne scarring is something people typically believe they just have to learn to live with. With the latest aesthetic medical treatments, this is no longer the case and we are now setting about what she calls her “life change” – reducing the scarring and effecting a smoother, healthier looking skin. REDUCING THE MISERY OF ROSACEA
 01/03/2004
Last week we received a letter from a reader complaining that he has been suffering from facial flushing for several years. He finds that his face becomes easily flushed around the nose and on his cheeks – when he drinks any alcohol, enters a warm room, goes out in the sun or experiences virtually any change in his environment. QUALITY CONTROL ESSENTIAL WHEN BOOKING AESTHETIC TREATMENTS
 12/02/2004
We saw a client recently who had come over from Ireland having suffered serious burns on his face at the hands of an inexperienced therapist carrying out an intense pulsed light treatment on him.
Then this morning we were listening to the radio and caught the end of a report on clinics offering Botox and Restylane anti-wrinkle injections. A reporter went along to 16 clinics posing as a prospective client. Her findings were quite shocking and a stark reminder to anyone out there considering undergoing any cosmetic treatments to be 100% confident that person who is to treat you is properly qualified and is going to improve the way you look, not cause you permanent damage.
